Google introduces AI-enabled features to take real-time notes and make it easy for those joining late to catch up (plus a post-meeting recap). I love all the innovation in this space…and especially Google’s goal to make you feel in the room regardless of where you’re located.
I see Phyllis on Chicago’s lakefront trail a few times per year. She always yells out encouragement as I bike past her, and it feels amazing. We all need more of this.

Two studies show Chicago not meeting the need of residents re: cycling infrastructure. Though I’m extremely comfortable biking throughout Chicago, I agree that we’ve got a lot of work to do to make people not used to riding feel safer. I ask my children to ride on the sidewalks and have asked them to never ride on busy streets like Ashland, Western, and Irving Park.
With that said, I have been extremely frustrated with the People for Bike’s report that came out several weeks ago. It had Chicago near the bottom of the list of large cities – behind Milwaukee, Detroit, and even San Antonio. Sure, Jan. Grab a bike and ride in any of those cities compared to Chicago. Not even close.
