Block party

After weeks of planning with our neighbors, Erin and I wrapped up the first annual block party. The party was a ton of fun and gave us the opportunity to spend a day hanging out with all of our neighbors.
I now think every neighborhood should shut down its block for a day. It gives you a rare chance to spend the day with your community, and provides you with a deeper perspective on what matters to your block. What was most surprising to me is that the planning process for this block party surfaced many issues (for example, slowing traffic, given there is a community playground at the block’s entrance) that we’re now collectively working to resolve.
Here we are celebrating the block party’s success:
Can’t wait for the next one. One block!
